Following a 25-year career buying wine for Safeway, and selling to multiples with a variety of distributors, Mark Hughes has launched The Real Wine Company - a Web-based outlet for small and single-estate producers.
Hughes commented: Many small, top-quality estates find it almost impossible to access the UK market for a number of reasons. The Real Wine Company now gives them national distribution direct to the consumer.' The initial range consists of 40 wines.
