Griswood moves to Tesco

Published:  23 July, 2008

Thresher Group buyer James Griswood has swapped the specialist sector for the grocery sector, joining Tesco as a wine product development manager.

He replaces Sarah Turner, who left the UK's biggest multiple in May to open a restaurant in Lymington with her husband, Gary Turner (formerly of Majestic).

Alex Anson, Thresher Group trading director, commented: I can confirm that after 11 years with the Thresher Group James is moving on and I would like to wish him all the best in his new role. We are in the process of recruiting to fill this vacancy but have no more details at this stage.'

Griswood was responsible for buying Champagne and wine from the Old World at the UK's biggest multiple specialist. Turner had responsibility for buying Italy and Spain at Tesco. Tesco was unable to confirm if Griswood would assume these responsibilities, but said that it would be releasing full details of his appointment shortly'.
