Rolfe launches 10 International
Two former United Wineries employees - Bill Rolfe and Toby Hancock - have left the company to launch a new wine business, 10 International.
Rolfe, who has held the position of marketing director at both Unwins and United Wineries, will head up the company, which will be based in Surrey. Hancock will lead the sales efforts.
The company will represent ten noble' wine producers from around the world - one partner from each of the 10 leading wine producing countries.
Rolfe said: As well as offering a range of outstanding and diverse wines from a highly focused portfolio, 10 new "consumer-led brands" will be developed over a period of time specifically with the off-trade in mind.'
He added: With consolidation taking place in much of the industry, this is an ideal moment for a new dynamic wine business to emerge and offer a real point of difference from the rest.'
Two of the ten partners have already been signed up, with several others in negotiation as we speak'.
