Stone, Vine & Sun to run Jacquesson distribution

Following thace collapse of Mayfair Cellars (see Harpers, 28 April) wine merchant Stone, Vine & Sun is temporarily looking after the distribution of Jacquesson Champagne.
Andrew Shaw of Stone, Vine & Sun told Harpers: We are just holding the fort for Jacquesson - managing distribution in the UK, particularly to London restaurants - until it appoints another agent in due course. We are not in the agency business and are not competing for it.'
Jacquesson Champagne was a major shareholder in Mayfair Cellars, which folded last month after a massive internal fraud was uncovered.
Stone, Vine & Sun is holding a press tasting on 25 May at the Fine Art Society, New Bond Street, London.
