PERNOD SWOOPS FOR POLISH DISTILLER

Published:  23 July, 2008

Pernod Ricard and the Polish Ministry of Privatisation have finalised the sale of an 80% stake in the Polmos Poznan distillery to Pernod Ricard. The distillery, which produces brands such as Wyborowa, Lodowa and Premium, was sold for 82 million euros. Commenting on the deal, the chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard, Patrick Ricard, said he was "delighted" by the acquisition of Wyborowa. "This brand completes our portfolio in a sector where our global market share was small, and becomes one of the important brands in our network."
