Published:  23 July, 2008

HwCg has signed up the giant Orange River Wine Cellars (ORWC), which accounts for 6% of South Africa's total production, as a new supplier, as well as six new boutique wineries for its specialist division.
ORWC is run on a cooperative basis and controls 4,624 hectares and five wineries, all of which are based in or around Stellenbosch.
Two major brand launches from HwCg and ORWC are planned for 2006, with the first launched at the LIWSF
and the second at the South Africa generic tasting at the
end of 2006.
The additions to the specialist division - which services
small independent retailers, wholesalers and the on-trade - are Stellenzicht, Hill & Dale, Neethlingshof, Uitkyk, Flat Roof Manor and Tukulu.
Richard Berrington, sales director for HwCg Specialist, said: We are keen to see South Africa take a greater share of our total sales, not only with the brands we are developing for the grocers, but also with these top-end wineries.'
