Constellation Brands boss Rob Sands said: Jon brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Constellation Europe as we continue to implement our international growth strategy.

In a further move, Constellation announced that Icon Estates would be moving to the control of Constellation Wines US. Icon is Constellation's fine-wine division and was formerly known as Franciscan Estates.

Sands added: We believe the change in the US will enable us to enhance our wine business, while retaining the independence and rich heritage of our fine-wine company, Icon Estates.'

Cellar Door, the premium-wine division of Constellation Europe, will fall under the auspices of Constellation's sales and marketing departments.

Amid the restructuring, Marina Gayan MW, Cellar Door's vice president of sales and marketing, will leave the company next month.

Dan Townsend, Constellation's European trading director, said: The 6+ category is an ongoing focus for Constellation Europe, Since the launch of Cellar Door two years ago, Marina and her team have done a tremendous job in putting Constellation's premium portfolio on the map and developing its distribution network.'
