C&C Wines wins exclusive UK Nino Negri agency

London-based importer/distributor C&C Wines has strengthened its Italian portfolio with the addition of premier Valtellina winery Nino Negri.

The Nino Negri range will be among those showcased by C&C Wines at the forthcoming London Wine Fair at a Nebbiolo masterclass (see below).

Founded in 1897, Nino Negri specialises in Nebbiolo cru and sfursat-style wines.

Sfursat translates as ‘strained’ or ‘forced’, and its production involves drying Nebbiolo grapes for several months prior to vinification, a process comparable to that employed in the creation of Amarone.

Christopher Carson, managing director of C&C Wines, said: “Despite working with numerous brands throughout my life, Nino Negri holds a special place in my heart. Every facet of Nino Negri is meticulously managed and the wines themselves, truly unique.

“I cannot wait to present both existing and new customers these wines and genuinely look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with Danilo and his team.”

Showcasing these and other C&C labels, Peter McCombie MW, C&C Wines’ recently appointed portfolio ambassador, will lead a Nebbiolo masterclass each day of the fair.

Alongside Nino Negri, wines from the Sordo and Scarpa wineries will be also be highlighted.

Other daily masterclasses run by C&C Wines at LWF will discuss Super Tuscans, focusing on the Orma and Oreno wines from Tenuta Sette Ponti; Southern Italy, spotlighting the Gulfi winery in Sicily and Felline in Puglia; and the highly regarded Hentley Farm winery in Barossa.

Each masterclass will be led by McCombie and will last 45 minutes.

C&C is a joint venture between Carson Wines and C Carnavale.
