The wine collection of the late Alan Clark MP is to be sold at auction next month.
The wines, which include cases of 1961 Chteau Palmer, 1967 d'Yquem and 1961 Lynch-Bages, are expected to reach more than 40,000 when they are sold at Christie's in London on October 20.
Offered for sale by Clark's widow Jane, the wines have been recently removed from Saltwood Castle near Hythe in Kent.
David Elswood of Christie's said: 'It is no surprise that his passion also extended to the world of fine wines. Numerous references to wine and the consumption thereof are to be found in his acclaimed diaries.'
