Ardche launches UK PR campaign

The Ardche Mridionale region of the southern Rhne is launching a UK PR campaign to raise awareness of the little-known region.

un by R&R Teamwork, the campaign is being funded by the Association 2000 Vins d'Ardche, which represents more than 70 independent wine producers and 22 co-ops.

The three appellations within the Ardche Mridionale are AOC Ctes-du-Vivarais, Vin de Pays des Coteaux de l'Ardche et des Comts Rhodaniens and Ctes du Rhne et Ctes du Rhne Villages (referred to as Ctes du Rhnes Ct Ardche').

Jean-Luc Flaugre, president of 2000 Vins d'Ardche, commented: In the UK, the wines of our region are not yet as well known as they deserve to be. We have a wonderful mix of grape varieties such as Viognier, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Ugni Blanc, Clairette and Marsanne for whites, and Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cinsault, Gamay, Carignan and Pinot Noir, as well as our indigenous Chatus, for the reds. We are especially keen to work with regional wine merchants and the on-trade.'
