Virgin Wines - the UK's largest online wine retailer - has teamed up with eckoh, the new speech recognition service from digital media and communications company 365 Corporation plc. The 12-month deal sees Virgin Wines become the exclusive wine partner of eckoh, which claims to be Europe's first comprehensive voice portal. Eckoh helps the user with a national rate number - 08701 10 10 10 - which can be dialled from any standard mobile or landline telephone. Once through to the portal, users can use the phone to read and send e-mails, go shopping, listen to the news and sports, set up conference calls, create diary appointments, connect to friends - all driven by the user's voice. The Virgin Wines deal will enable eckoh users to request both news and information on the latest wines, as well as place orders via the Virgin Wines call centre.
