Percy Fox wine development manager Carmel Kilcline has become the latest woman to join the ranks of the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW).

Kilcline became the second new MW of 2005 after passing all three parts of the exam, including a dissertation on The challenge of water resource management for Australia's wine industry: case study for South Australia'.

Kilcline, an Irishwoman living in England, has a degree in biotechnology from Dublin City University. She began her career in the dairy industry before moving into wine with Sainsbury's in 1998. Her work has also taken her to Australia, where she worked a vintage for Southcorp.

We are delighted to welcome Carmel to the Institute,' said Patrick McGrath MW, chairman of the IMW. Her intelligence, knowledge and determination will prove a substantial asset to the IMW.'
