Corby gets screwy

Corby bottlers has installed a new generation of screwcap machinery fitted with a vacuum system'.

According to a spokesman for the company, This will reduce the amount of oxygen in the bottle's head space, providing the wine with greater protection, helping maintain quality and freshness'. The new machine doubles the potential screwcap capacity at Corby.

Managing director John Steel said: Screwcap currently accounts for around 65% of our bottling capacity. This figure will rise still further because screwcap has been embraced by the on-trade.'

Corby has also installed new equipment that allows the automatic packaging of fridge-friendly wine boxes'.
