Jancis Robinson launches online wine course with half-price offer

Published:  09 February, 2016

Jancis Robinson has partnered with online learning agency Electric Academy to develop a wine course which promises to give even beginners an understanding of wine in a single evening.

The course, which launches tomorrow, covers everything from viniculture to sourcing the best value wines, and from tasting techniques to food-and-wine matching.

Titled Mastering wine: Jancis Robinson's shortcuts to success, the course offers 3.5 hours of content spread over 51 lectures.

Robinson said: "I've written many books on wine, but I thought a complete wine course that can be easily accessed on smartphones and tablets was long overdue.

"The main point of wine is to give pleasure, not to generate social confusion and angst. I'd like to make the enjoyment of wine more accessible and remove some of the myth and pretence around it.

"There are some fantastic wines out there and I'd like to help people find and enjoy them."

The course costs £59 and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. It can be found online here.

Readers of Harpers are eligible for a half-price offer, however, which will enable them to take the course for just £29.

The offer can be accessed here.

Robinson is the wine writer for the Financial Times and the editor of The Oxford Companion to Wine, now in its fourth edition, and co-author of The World Atlas of Wine.
