Bodegas Beronia offers festive Basque food-and-wine hampers

Published:  12 November, 2015

Rioja winery Bodegas Beronia has launched a range of food-and-wine hampers for the Christmas market in partnership with Basque food specialists San Sebastián Food.

The hampers include a range of savoury and sweet produce, from chorizo and jamón ibérico to red pepper jam.

Also included are bottles of Beronia Reserva and Beronia Verdejo wine.

This is the second partnership between the two companies. Earlier this year they opened a cooking school together in San Sebastian's Hotel Maria Cristina.

Bodegas Beronia was bought by Gonzales Byass in 1982.

Its most recently released vintage Reserva, the 2010, won gold medals at the International Wine & Spirits Competition, Mundus Vini and Tempranillos del Mundo.

The bodega has 25 ha of vineyard in the foothills of the Pyrenees in north-west Rioja, and controls a further 870 ha owned by some 200 growers within 10 km of the winery.

The hampers are priced from £75 to £145. They are available online from http://shop.sansebastianfood.com/collections/hampers.

Delivery is free within the M25.
