Vinoteca's fifth site, this time at the One Pancras Square development in Kings Cross, is getting ready to open its doors as head chef Kieren Steinborn joins the team.
Vinoteca's Kings Cross site is set to open next month
The group was handpicked to take on the site, and it will be its largest to date, with over 90 covers, including a 30-seater outdoor terrace. It will be the first Vinoteca with a dedicated wine shop and tasting space to showcase its 250-strong list. The venue will also be open for breakfast, along with a full range of breakfast wines - including low and no-alcohol options alongside breakfast favourites Champagne and Moscato.
Steinborn, formerly of Alain Ducasse, Michelin-starred Thackeray's, head chef at The Swan at Shakespeare's Globe, has created a menu influenced by Mediterranean dishes which focuses on the group's established style of seasonally-led rustic dishes using British produce. Examples include English rose veal tonnato, silver skin anchovies, grilled gem hearts and hot smoked Scottish salmon & quinoa tabbouleh.
Breakfast and weekend brunch will have light and healthy options, and there will be takeaway on offer too.
The outlet has a 20ft horseshoe zinc bar at the heart of the dining room and 10ft floor-to-ceiling windows. It opens late March 2015, with a soft launch scheduled from March 10 to 19 during which diners get 50% discount on food and drink.
Vinoteca first opened in Farringdon in 2005. Its founders Brett Woonton, Charlie Young and Elena Ares already operate sites in London's Farringdon, Marylebone, Soho and Chiswick
