The cost of cheap Champagne
The businessmen accused of conspiring to defraud customers in a Champagne scam, have been jailed. The four men, who operated the House of Delacroix, made 2.1 million gross profit from selling cheap Champagne at inflated prices, exploiting fears that there would be insufficient Champagne for the Millennium celebrations. Southwark Crown Court sentenced Lee Rosser to 18 months in prison, Julian Blee to one year, while Craig Dean was also found guilty and will be sentenced on 6 March. Another man involved, Lewis Daulby, was jailed for five years for conspiracy.
