The Bordeaux Wine School (Ecole du Vin) has seen a rise in students across all markets, with the UK up by 19%.
In the past year it claims 50,800 people have trained at Ecole du Vin in Bordeaux, with the number of students in Europe up by 46%, and Germany by 100%.
Located in Bordeaux since 1948, the classes are taught in English by local wine experts who aim to provide consumers and the trade with the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the region's wines.
It offers intensive courses teaching about the specifics of Bordeaux's vineyards, tasting techniques, food and wine pairings, and the Grands Crus Classés of Bordeaux, express summer courses and tailor made à la carte programmes for groups of eight people or more.
The establishment says last year the eight Bordeaux accredited tutors in the UK hosted 35 tastings, educating 1,031 trade and consumers about Bordeaux wines.
These tutors also hosted Bordeaux tastings at 11 major UK universities (wine societies), educating a total of 484 students, and seven partner schools in the UK organised 69 exclusive Bordeaux wine seminars and trained 1,165 people.
