Celebrity chef, Marco Pierre White has opened his third Frankie's Bar & Grill, in collaboration with champion jockey, Frankie Dettori.
Frankie's Bar & Grill is part of Sanguine Hospitality's £5.5m redevelopment of the former Kings Gap Court Hotel, which also features a next generation Holiday Inn Express hotel.
Set in Hoylake, Wirral, it is the first Frankie's venue in the UK outside London; the others are in Knightsbridge and Stamford Bridge.
The concept is a mixture of "affordability and glamour" and offers traditional Italian food in a relaxed environment.
White who handed back his three Michelin stars in 1999, told Harpers: "I don't like small portions. The customers who dine here will be paying £25-30 per head, I want them to walk out thinking they have had great value.
"Michelin star restaurants are just too fussy, why would you want to spend three hours at a dinner table, I want people to be able to come relax and just enjoy the food."
White was attending an organised ticket customer event at the venue.
