Laphroaig's 18 Year Old gets Jubilee treatment

Published:  17 May, 2012

Islay single malt whisky Laphroaig has released a limited run of its 18 Year Old with Diamond Jubilee packaging.

Distributed by Maxxium UK, each limited edition carton, of which there are 3,000, will bear Prince Charles' Royal Warrant and contain the Laphroaig 18 Year Old single malt (rrp £77, 48% abv).

Laphroaig was given the Royal Warrant by HRH Prince Charles after he visited the distillery in 1994. He also returned again in 2008 as part of his own 60th birthday celebrations.

Laphroaig has pledged to make a donation of £3,000 to the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, which will go towards helping craftsmen throughout Britain to further their careers.

Distillery manager John Campbell said: "As proud bearers of a Royal Warrant, Laphroaig is delighted that our 18 Year Old has become part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in its beautifully designed, premium Jubilee packaging."

The limited edition Laphooaig will be available to buy from selected whisky specialists and retailers from June.
