The family-owned business, which has over 500,000 UK customers, has appointed VCCP as its strategic and creative brand agency charged with the rebranding later this year.

The firm was founded by Tony Laithwaite in 1969 when he began bringing French wine back to the UK in a white van.

Glenn Caton, Laithwaite's managing director said: "We've tasked VCCP with helping us build a powerful brand based on our unique approach to sourcing interesting, great value wines from around the world and delivering exceptional personal service".

VCCP's other clients include O2, comparethemarket.com, easyJet and Carling.
