Constellation buys Allied

Constellation Wines, formed from the acquisition of BRL Hardy by Constellation Brands, has bought the Irish drinks operator, Allied Drinks Ltd. Set up 18 years ago, the company has represented BRL Hardy's wines for a decade, and more recently Grant's of St James's. Redmond Gavin has been appointed general manager of the company, which will continue to trade under the Allied Drinks name. He will report to Constellation Wines Europe's CEO, Christopher Carson. Gavin commented: We now have the most comprehensive New World portfolio of any wine company in the Republic.'
