ALARM HAS BEEN EXPRESSED BY AFED

Alarm has been expressed by AFED (Association Franaise des Eleveurs, Embouteilleurs et Distributeurs de Vins et Spiritueux) over the 15% fall in France's domestic and export markets between mid-May 2002 and mid-May 2003, reports French review VSB. AFED will increase pressure for changes to the Common Market Organisation for Wine regarding winemaking practices and support the new market segmentation - specifically, Cpages de France and the use of grape variety and vintage for table wines.
