A lot o' Bols!

Rmy Cointreau reports a 8.9% increase in consolidated turnover for the first nine months of the 2000/01 financial year. During October to December, the figure for Bols activities is included for the first time. On a like-for-like basis, turnover would have increased 7.4%. Cognac turnover rose by 21.7%, driven by a 7.8% volume increase in premium segment. Bols activities, following integration of Metaxa and Asbach, recorded a 22% increase in growth over the last three months of 2000. In liqueurs and spirits, excluding Bols, Cointreau and Passoa notched up a good performance. Marketing support for Piper-Heidsieck and Charles Heidsieck "limited the anticipated fall in sales during the third quarter" according to the company.
