South African winery, Nederburg has emerged as the top performer in this year's Muscats du Monde.
Held in Frontignan-la-Peyrade in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France and involving 55 international judges, the Western Cape, 2007 Private Bin Eminence was awarded the Gold Medal of Excellence for its sweet wine, beating 200 entries from 23 countries.
Dé-Mari Kellerman, brand manager for Nederburg, said: "Muscats du Monde showcases the diversity of expression of Muscat wines and covers both natural and fortified wines. To have been judged alongside some of the top names in Europe and to have been honoured in this way is great affirmation for Nederburg and for winemakers Razvan Macici and Tariro Masayiti. It also enhances Nederburg's reputation for excellence in the dessert wine arena."
