Cannes, Day 2: Drinking on the job

Published:  29 October, 2008

Well, I broke my no-drinking-on-the-job rule today. Only because two of the people I interviewed insisted that a small tipple accompany us to the table.

Well, I broke my no-drinking-on-the-job rule today. Only because two of the people I interviewed insisted that a small tipple accompany us to the table.

I'm not quite sure that 25-year-old whisky followed by a cosmopolitan cocktail made for the best mix but hey, its all in the name of the job.

Not a lot of time to write because I'm just off to dinner with the guys from Pernod Ricard, looking forward to my first introduction to the Cannes nightlife (last night I was pretty lame - in bed by 9pm as a result of the 2:30am start to the day - yes, I'm a bad representative of the drinks industry I know...).

Today has been another exhausting one - lots of drinks companies to see, lots of networking to do. In between all of which it has absolutely poured down with rain; trust the English weather to follow me overseas. so I'm looking forward to a bit of posh nosh to replenish my energy levels (all in the name of the job again, you understand).

Anyway, just a short entry from me today as I must unfortunately log off already, they're chucking me out of the press centre to lock up. Au revoir for now!
