Bottle Green Ltd is pleased to announce the launch of Mancura, a new Chilean wine range from Viña Morandé. The brand has already received success in other markets worldwide so the two companies are very excited to see the wines launch in the UK.

The name Mancura comes from the ancient word Manquecura, which means Stone Condor. An ancient Chilean myth states that the Stone Condor was the guardian of the grape harvest and the farmers would leave offerings to honour and thank him for his generosity. He would then come to life, fly down and carry the offerings back to the top of the mountains.

Viña Morandé is an established premium wine producer in Chile. Formed in 1996, the company is committed to driving quality, product innovation and ensuring the success of its branded wines. The Morandé brand was launched in the UK in early 2007 and both the wines & the packaging have received a number of top accolades.* The Mancura wines have been specially crafted by Jorge Martinez, the winemaker responsible for the Morandé Pionero and Reserva ranges, both of which have secured UK listings this year.

The launch of Mancura marks a new chapter in the growth of Bottle Green's strategy with Viña Morandé. Three of the wines from the Reserva level of the range have already secured listings with Somerfield. The Chardonnay, Carmenere & Cabernet Merlot Rosé make their in-store debut this week and retail at £7.99. The eye-catching label design with an image of two Stone Condors is sure to engage consumers and ensure the wines literally fly off the shelves.
