Australia Tastings: McGuigan

Leading Australian producer, McGuigan Simeon, will unveil a new regionally focused brand at the 2008 Australia Day Tastings. In addition, new vintages from the iconic Black Label range and the recently launched premium label, McGuigan Hand Made, will also be on offer.

Located on stand 23, McGuigan will be showing the first release of the McGuigan Discover label - a range of wines created to reflect the depth and breadth of the Australian wine industry. Sourcing fruit from key regional areas from throughout Australia, the range features Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc, Langhorne Creek Shiraz Viognier and King Valley Pinot Grigio. All three wines are priced at 7.99,

In addition, McGuigan will be presenting two wines from the iconic Black Label range - 2007 Sauvignon Blanc and 2006. The range has a RSP of 5.99 and all wines in the Black Label portfolio are now closed with a stelvin closure.

Rounding out the McGuigan offer is the recently launched McGuigan Hand Made Langhorne Creek Shiraz. Developed by patriarch and winemaker Brian McGuigan, the wine is produced from select old vine fruit sourced from McGuigan's Langhorne Creek vineyard. Priced at 19.99, the limited edition 2005 Shiraz has been aged in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak and has an alcohol content of 15 per cent.
