The 2008 Australia Day Tastings will see premium Adelaide Hills producer Nepenthe showcasing new vintage releases from the Altitude and Pinnacle ranges.
Highlights from the varietally led Nepenthe Altitude range include the newly available 2007 vintage of the flagship Altitude Sauvignon Blanc. Sourced from estate vineyards in the cool climate Adelaide Hills, the wine is 100 per cent Sauvignon Blanc. Harvested at night to ensure optimum freshness, the wine is fermented in stainless steel with a small proportion fermented in French oak barriques on lees for two to three months.
In addition, Nepenthe will be presenting new vintages of Altitude Unoaked Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Charleston Pinot Noir. The Nepenthe Altitude range is priced between 7.99 and 9.99.
As well as presenting the Altitude range, Nepenthe will also highlight the latest vintage of The Good Doctor Pinot Noir. Part of the Nepenthe Pinnacle range, the wine is named after Nepenthe founder and patriarch, Doctor Ed Tweddell, a passionate and avid admirer of all things Pinot. The new release 2005 is produced from 100 per cent hand picked Pinot Noir sourced from cool climate, estate owned vineyards.
