Mansion House - Vineyard Selection

Published:  18 January, 2007

Mansion House Bay at London Annual New Zealand Tasting 15th January 2008.

Mansion House Bay has a table at this tasting, and will show the Vineyard Selection range of wines from the Marlborough region, created to express varietal intensity and the unique qualities of their site. The Pinot Grigio, Riesling and Pinot Noir come from single vineyards, while the Sauvignon Blanc is selected from three distinctive sites in the Wairau and Awatere Valleys.

A new release is the The Governor Sauvignon Blanc. It is made in an alternative' style, with natural fermentation in old oak barriques and stirred on lees.

"With Mansion House Bay my winemaking philosophy is simply to use minimalist techniques to produce the most complex wines. This way the character of the vineyard is shown in the wine." Winemaker-Sam Smail.
