Inverarity Morton seals deal with Edinburgh Whisky

Published:  18 February, 2016

Scotland's Edinburgh Whisky, one the newest additions to the whisky scene, has signed a deal with Inverarity Morton, which now becomes the exclusive on-trade distributor throughout the UK

This deal means a major step up to the national level for Edinburgh Whisky, which only launched its New Town Blends and Library Collection in the summer of last year.

Edinburgh Whisky was founded by experienced drinks and hospitality veterans Gordon Watt and Gregor Mathieson, who realised that with 1.6 million visitors a year Edinburgh had the ideal customer base for a home-grown whisky portfolio.

New Town Blends is described as a "quintessential" Speyside style, while the Library Collection includes highlights such as Highland Park, distilled in 2000, plus a 2007 distilled Glenlivet, both bottled in 2015.

Gordon Watt said: "We've had a lot of interest from the on-trade looking to be among the first to stock our range, but it was important we found the correct distribution partner with shared values on quality and service. We are really excited that through Inverarity Morton, Edinburgh Whisky will now be available in some of the UK's top hotels, bars and restaurants."

Ian Cumming, Commercial Director at Inverarity Morton, added: "Edinburgh Whisky is a really exciting new brand and its success over the last six months reinforces the huge untapped potential we believe exists in the marketplace for this new arrival."
