Wineteca 2016 to partner with Gambero Rosso

Published:  15 February, 2016

The Italian Chamber of Commerce is to partner with leading Italian food-and-drink publisher Gambero Rosso for its 2016 Wineteca tasting.

The event, which will be held on March 3, will showcase 60 Italian wineries, all of which will have received the prestigious Tre Bicchieri rating in Gambero Rosso's Vini d'Italia 2016 guide.

Vini d'Italia is an authoritative annual guide to the wines of Italy.

This year, it awarded Tre Bicchieri marks to 421 wines out of some 45,000 tasted from nearly 2,500 wineries.

Around a quarter of the award-winners retail in Italy for less than 15 euros, demonstrating the value for money that Italian wines can offer.

Wineteca was launched in 2013 by the Italian Chamber of Commerce to highlight the breadth and depth of Italian wine production to UK importers, distributors, buyers, agents and sommeliers.

Visitors this year will be able to meet the winemakers themselves, as well as attend masterclasses on the wines being exhibited.

Gambero Rosso publishes a range of magazines and guides to Italian food and wine. It also has its own TV channel and offers training courses up to professional and managerial level in the sector.

Gambero Rosso is celebrating its 30th birthday this year.

Wineteca 2016 will be held at the Church House Conference Centre, Dean's Yard, Westminster.
