McKinley Vintners has announced the addition of Cognac ABK6 to its portfolio. The Cognac is made by the father-and-daughter team of Francis and Elodie Abécassis under the name Domaines Francis Abécassis.
Cognac ABK6 was launched in 2005 as a modern brand to appeal to a younger generation of drinkers.
It comes in a range of different expressions, VSOP, XO Family Réserve, Vintage 1985 and Limited Edition 'ICE'. A new honey Cognac liqueur, ABK6 Honey, will be available through McKinley Vintners this August.
ABK6 combines smooth, complex, aromatic cognacs with elegantly designed contemporary packaging. Each expression is a single-estate cognac blended from exceptionally old eaux-de-vies.
The brand has won innumerable awards, including a gold medal and best in class at the ISC 2012 for the ABK6 XO Family Réserve. Cognac Producer of the Year at the New York International Spirits Competition in 2014, and World's Best Cognac at the World Cognac Awards 2014 for the ABK6 VSOP.
The Cognac's name, ABK6 is pronounced A-be-ca-sis, and derives from the shorthand the family uses to write its surname.
Peter McKinley said: "The quality and individuality of the cognacs produced by Francis and Elodie are truly remarkable and I can't wait to show them to our customers alongside our other great spirits."
Elodie Abécassis commented: "We have been looking for a suitable UK partner for some time and are delighted to be working with the McKinley Vintners team. This is a very exciting development in the story of ABK6 Cognac."
Other spirits and fortifieds at McKinley Vintners include Calvados Christian Drouin, Bristol Classic Rums, Snow Queen Vodka, Bodegas Tradicion Sherries and Quinta do Tedo Ports.
McKinley recently lost Cognac Frapin to Louis Latour Agencies, together with Champagne Gosset and sales director Guy Nightingale.
