The Fireball liqueur and Buffalo Trace bourbon distributor Hi-Spirits has added an authentic Italian amaretto to its armoury.
It has signed a deal to handle Lazzaroni - an amaretto dating back to 1851 in the Italian town of Saronno - in the UK market.
Hi-Spirits managing director Dan Bolton said: "Lazzaroni is already appreciated by those in the know as one of the earliest and most authentic amarettos.
"Bringing this iconic Italian brand into our portfolio means that it will be even more widely enjoyed.
"Growing interest in authentic drinks, as well as the increasing number of consumers looking for lower abv spirits, will both help drive demand."
Lazzaroni claims to be the only amaretto made from an infusion of the famous Amaretti del Chiostro di Saronno biscuits, rather than an essence.
It is 24% abv and has an rrp of £19.
