BiBoViNoThe BiBoViNo concept is looking to expand its store openings internationallyThe firm is working with packaging giant Smurfit Kappa on its packaging design and is looking to roll out a bag-in-tube option soon.

BiBoViNo was founded in France in 2013 and sells its wines online - its first bricks and mortar outlet opened in Paris in September 2014  and it now has 10 shops, with the aim of expanding to between 50 and 100 sites in the near future. Its latest opening was in Tel Aviv.

The retailer is looking to change the perceptions of wines sold in bag-in-box format - and focuses only on higher end wines as selected by Bruno Quenioux. It is now working with packaging giant Smurfit Kappa on its new designs. The packaging has a simple design and uniform colour, as well as a longer shelf life after opening, easy handling and a lower price per litre.

Smurfit Kappa, a specialist in bag-in-box technology, has worked with BiBoViNo to supply the bag-in-box packaging and has extended the product line to bag-in-tube, which has an "even more sophisticated design" for the most premium wines it has to offer.

Smurfit Kappa is one of the leading producers of paper-based packaging, with around 41,000 employees across 350 production sites across 32 countries and with a sales revenue of €7.9 billion in 2013.
