Not everyone has been greeted with open arms at the Beautiful South tasting at London's Olympia this week. Spare a thought for this loveable rhino who fell the wrong side of the law whilst quietly going about its business at yesterday's week's show.
OK it was not actually a real rhino but the PIWOSA Wino Rhino, brought along to help promote the newly created Premium Independent Winemakers of South Africa.
But Wino Rhino did not go down well with the traffic wardens circling around London's Olympia who promptly issued her with a parking violation for having settled herself down smack bang in front of the entrance to the show.
Despite the brave protestations of PIWOSA members, including chairman Rollo Gabb of Journey's End and winemaker Ken Forrester (both pictured), Wino Rhino was told to move on.
It is not clear who is going to be responsible for paying the actual parking fine, but the normally thick skinned Wino Rhino was said to be "highly embarrassed" by the whole event. A PIWOSA spokeswoman told Harpers: "She was eventually packed into a van and taken back to High Timber restaurant where she is currently staying until she can afford the cash for the flights home to South Africa."
