Tesco has teamed up with celebrity chef Jamie Oliver to be the exclusive retailer for three wines from the Jamie's Italian restaurant group.
The wines are Jamie's Italian Bianco, Jamie's Italian Rosato and Jamie's Italian Rosso. These wines have been on the wine list at the 35 Jamie's Italian restaurants since October 2012 and are available to buy in a number of formats at the restaurant - including by the glass, by the bottle and by the litre.
The wines are supplied to the restaurant chain by drinks company Enotria and the three wines will be available in 75cl bottles in 500 Tesco stores. It is the first time Tesco has collaborated with a supplier to make a bespoke on-trade wine available in the off-trade.
Earlier in the year, Jamie's Italian Prosecco NV was added to the Tesco wine range. The wines will also be available online.
Davy Zyw, Tesco product development manager for the Italian wine category, who is responsible for listing the Jamie's Italian wines, said: "We are delighted to be able to bring the popular wines from Jamie's Italian restaurants, into our stores. The Bianco, Rosato and Rosso have been created to be enjoyed with food, they are deliciously versatile and very easy to enjoy. We are excited to be able to help recreate restaurant experiences in our customer's homes."
