The Whisky Shop has acquired whisky retailer Loch Fyne Whiskies for an undisclosed sum.
Loch Fyne Whiskies in Inveraray stocks several hundred single malts as well as a collection of own-label products.
Andrew Torrance, managing director of The Whisky Shop, said: "Loch Fyne Whiskies has made a significant contribution to the specialist premium whisky sector - offering a unique portfolio of blends and single malts to a loyal customer base.
"We're delighted to have acquired such an interesting business and feel that it is a valuable addition to The Whisky Shop brand.
"While the strategic focus of our group is directed towards the major population centres in England and elsewhere, I have no hesitation in recognising that there is room in our portfolio for this little gem."
Richard Joynson, owner of Loch Fyne Whiskies, said: "I am very proud to have been able to grow Loch Fyne Whiskies into the established business it is today. It was important to me that the right buyer should be found for the business and I'm confident that The Whisky Shop is that. I'm sure that they will continue to have success with both The Whisky Shop and Loch Fyne stores."
The Whisky Shop claims to be the largest specialist whisky retailer in the UK, selling more than £12m of product annually. This acquisition follows the opening of a new flagship at Piccadilly, London, taking The Whisky Shop estate to 21 stores across the UK.
