How did you get into the wine business?
I started out working for the family business (Remnant Kings, Scotland's largest independent fabric retailer) as a buyer, but I felt that the people coming to see me weren't presenting their products very well and I was interested in trying things from the other side of the desk. So I went along to a sales recruitment company and they asked me to come in the next day for an interview with a US wine company that was setting up in the UK (Ernest & Julio Gallo). So I kind of backed into the wine business by accident! But it's a business that has really gripped me, so it's almost impossible to back out again!
