Funky Greek street food stop The Athenian has touched down in Tooting Market. Launching as a street food operation in 2014, founders Efthymios Vasilakis and Neofytos Christodoulou have aimed to boost the quality image of contemporary Greek cuisine, serving up Greece’s street food classics souvlaki and gyros to Londoners and Bristolians.
Customers can pick up a pitta in an urban market setting, while also enjoying wines and craft beers from Greece’s microbrewing scene, which has been a focus for the venue following its mid-July launch. The venue is part of an extensive rejuvenation plan which aims to make the south London area a foodie destination in the vein of Borough Market.
