The Crystal Head vodka has launched in 50cl miniature bottles, which supplier Bibendum says will open up new opportunities for a fast-growing brand.
The new 50cl skull-shaped vodka bottles is the fourth size to be rolled out, joining 70cl, 1.75cl and the 3L Jeraboam, which launched in September targeting the on-trade. It will hit a lower price point (rrp: £7.95) which distributor Bibendum PLNB says will open up new sales and point of purchase opportunities for the fast-growing vodka brand.
The premium vodka brand is made in St John's Newfoundland, Canada, and is owned by Hollywood actor Dan Aykroyd and artist John Alexander. It was launched in the USA in 2008, and claimed to have reached 1 million bottles faster than other premium vodka brands in the US market. It was launched in the UK in June 2011 and was distributed by Global Brands before being taken on by Bibendum's niche spirit arm, Instil Drinks Company, in July 2013. It is now available in 43 countries.
