LIWF - Seckfords targets indies

Published:  18 May, 2012

If you're an independent on the hunt for some New World wines, Seckford Agencies is hosting winemakers from 17 estates in the newly launched Small Independents Pavilion.

Wooing Tree Estate Pinot Noir 2008 (rrp £27.75), from Central Otago, will be on show, along with Blondie Blanc de Noir 2011 (rrp £21.85) and Beetle Juice Pinot Noir 2010 (rrp £21.85). Steve Farquharson, owner and viticulturalist, will also be present at the show.
Spice Route, the range from Charles Back's South African winery in Malmesbury, will be presented by winemaker Charl du Plessis. The wines are produced from largely unirrigated bush vines and the range includes Chakalaka 2009 (rrp £12.75) - a blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Petit Syrah, Grenache and Tannat. Also attending is Anthony Murphy, the winemaker behind the Trentham Estate, Murphy's and Lantana ranges from Murray River Valley in Australia. He's on hand to present his premium "Victorian" range of Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2008 and Mornington Peninsular Pinot Noir 2008 (rrp £15.50).
