Second annual London Greek Wine Festival to be hosted in October
The second annual London Greek Wine festival is set to be hosted on 8th and 9th of October 2016 and will showcase over 130 wines from a wide selection of producers.
The consumer event hosted over the two days will offer opportunities for attendees to learn more about the indigenous grape varieties and participate in seminar and masterclasses.
The festival is put on by Theodore Kyriakou and the team at The Greek Larder and will hosted by TV wine presenter Olly Smith.

Greek wines, which have struggled in the past to gain a strong foothold in the UK, are getting more traction with suppliers and the on-trade recently.
One challenge wines from Greece have encountered is the wines are more diverse and much higher quality than what was being exported two decades ago.
"The first knee-jerk reaction I still get when I try and introduce Greek wines - even to people in the UK trade - is 'I hate retsina'. I can see a lot of people in the UK wine business that still think like that," explains Konstantinos Lazarakis MW.
Producers have recently focused significantly more on vineyard management to improve the wines. Co-founder Yiannis Paraskevopoulos of Gai'a Wines said:"I can tell with certainty in the winery now we know what we are doing. It took us years to learn exactly how to work with [red grape variety] Agiorgitiko. Obviously there is a bit of fine tuning, but we are also concentrating much more on the viticulture and tending of the vines."
It is the focus of the producers on these types of improvements that are helping to drive growing interest in the UK and make Steve Daniels, buying director at Novum Wines optimistic about the future of Greek wines in the UK and beyond. He said: "I think Greek wines will only continue to get better - no doubt about it."
