Harpers' publisher, Agile Media Ltd, is pleased to announced that it has acquired SITT and is taking over the running and full responsibility for the event - the leading tasting for Independents from the on- and off-trade.
SITT will join a growing portfolio of publications and events at Agile including Harpers Wine and Spirits, Off Licence News, Class, Drinks International, The Drinks Wholesaler and The Drinks Retailing Awards.
The acquisition will create synergies between Agile's portfolio of drinks focused titles and events, to the benefit of exhibitors and attendees.
"SITT It is a fantastic tasting with masses of potential," Lee Sharkey, publisher of Agile's Wine and Retail titles said.
"Since Judy Kendrick launched SITT over 10 years ago it has become one of the most important and loved tastings in the trade. We think that a smaller, more drinks focused publisher such as Agile will be able to really cherish this brand and develop it as we have done with our other products".
Andrew Reed, managing director responsible for wine assets at WR, which previously co-owned SITT with Agile, added: "This is a vibrant and well run tasting exhibition and I'm sure that Lee and her team will be able to provide the focus and commitment that it needs to take it to the next level.
