Top Champagne house Centre Vinicole - Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte (CV-CNF) has released its sales figures for last year which show growth of 2% from 2014 and 2015 - although exports are down.

The Nicolas Feuillatte brand shows continued growth in sales for 2015, with sales of 10.85 million bottles, largely driven by a strategy to build brand equity.

Export volumes are slightly down compared to last year however, due to the fiercely competitive UK market.

In March, Julie Campos, Managing Director at Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, said that selling Champagne at prices below the cost of production in UK supermarkets is "suicidal" for producers and that the rush to the bottom on price could lead to a situation where better quality Prosecco could be found on shelves than Champagne.

In response to this, the brand said it is focusing on enhancing brand value in its export markets.

In North America and Asia, the Nicolas Feuillatte brand has also continued to progress.

Across the board, sales were worth 215 million Euros in 2015, with a net operating profit of 20.6 million Euros.

On May 13, Centre Vinicole - Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, presided by President Véronique Blin and Managing Director, Julie Campos, held its Annual General Meeting and approved the financial statements for 2015.

At the meeting, Blina and Campos emphasised the financial stability of the business which ensures its member growers economic independence, and also highlighted the importance of unity within the company.

Campos said: "These results overall underline the relevance and success of our cooperative model. Objectives for 2016 will focus on strengthening the brand, developing export markets and increasing value."
