French wine producer Les Grands Chais de France has promoted UK off-trade director Mark Kears to be the group's new managing director for UK and Ireland.
French wine producer Les Grands Chais de France has promoted UK off-trade director Mark Kears to be the group's new managing director for UK and Ireland.
Kears will over see all the group's operations in the UK and Ireland, managing a team of 30 commercial and support staff.
Prior to joining Les Grands Chais de France, Kears worked in a range of senior commercial positions at Treasury Wines, Anheuser-Busch and Bulmers.
Frederic Helfrich, commercial director of Les Grands Chais de France said: "The UK and Ireland are essential export markets for Les Grands Chais de France. The new management structure will ensure that we build on excellent foundations and further develop sales of our brands, domains and chateaux in growth channels and strengthen our close relationship with the on-trade and independents partners."
Les Grands Chais de France is one of the largest wine producers in France.
Its has wineries in most of the key wine-producing regions, including the Loire, Alsace, Beaujolais, the Rhône, Languedoc and Bordeaux, as well as in lesser known regions such as the Jura.
It also works with a network of regional winemakers to buy in grapes from over 1,100 winegrowers across France.
Les Grands Chais de France owns some of the best known and most successful French brands worldwide, including JP Chenet, Arthur Metz, Lacheteau, Château de Cléray, Château de Fesles, Château Cantin, Clos Beauregard, Pasquier-Desvignes, and Domaine de la Baume.
