Laithwaites and Anthropologie join forces in natural cork campaign

Published:  13 April, 2011

Laithwaites Wines and Anthropologie have joined forces in support of the I Love Natural Cork campaign to host a wine tasting evening promoting the benefits of the stopper.

I Love Natural Cork is a campaign developed to recruit UK wine consumers to choose wine with natural cork stoppers promoting the environmental, economic and cultural benefits.

The Visual Team at women's fashion retailer, Anthropologie, Regent Street has created two window installations showcasing over 37,000 used corks from local restaurants and hotels which aim to manifest the importance of cork production and usage to customers and the passing public.

Anthropologie has collaborated with Laithwaites Wine to host a wine tasting evening at the Regent Street store on April 13.

This will give customers the opportunity to learn about the benefits of natural cork whilst being guided by expert Matthew Day through six hand-picked wines.

Following the event, Anthropologie will donate the corks to be recycled, ending their lifecycle as mulch to be used on the Laithwaites Wine vineyards in Theale.

The campaign seeks to educate and engage wine drinkers to pledge their support for natural cork by reducing the use of aluminium and plastic stoppers.
