Virgin appoints social media consultant

Virgin Wines has appointed an online engagement consultant to advise on its social media strategy.

Somatica will help define how the Virgin Wines can maximise its presence in the social arena and suggest new methods for consumer engagement.

The aim is to allow customers to communicate more freely with the online reatiler and each other in an informal manner.

Managing director, Jay Wright, said advances and increased use in social media had created a new way to interact with customers.

"With customer interaction being one of our main priorities, we are keen to use every channel to its full potential to allow every customer to communicate with us in a way that is most suitable and convenient to them."
