Bottle Green secures Discovery Channel sponsorship deal

Leeds-based wine trader Bottle Green has signed a six figure deal to sponsor Discovery Kitchen on Discovery Real Time, starting in October.

For eight months - spanning the important Christmas and New Year trading markets - Andrew Peace Wines and Bottle Green's own French Connection wine brand will enjoy exclusive sponsorship rights of all the satellite channel's food and drink programming in the UK.

The schedule includes programmes like The Gourmet Farmer, Come Dine With Me, Beyond River Cottage and Cake Boss.

The deal - worth at least £100,000 - will cover Discovery Kitchen Weekday and Discovery Kitchen Weekend programming where both brands will feature on a rotating basis.

Richard Hitchcock, Bottle Green's marketing director, said: "To say we are excited about this sponsorship is an understatement.

"We are teaming up with one of the world's most prestigious digital TV networks and we will have exclusivity on the sponsorship of all their superb food programming output for eight solid months.

"We are working with an award-winning channel and their production team and it is proof of how much belief we have in the future of Andrew Peace and French Connection wines that we are prepared to take this major step.

"Both brands have other significant elements to this year's marketing plan, but the tie-up with Discovery is certainly the pinnacle."
