Scotland: Scottish & Newcastle - the official drinks suppliers to the city's Hogmanay celebrations - is to promote responsible drinking to party-goers in Edinburgh at the New Year.

S&N has sponsored free night buses to help people home safely once they have seen in the New Year.

The brewer will also be showcasing a range of drinks including Foster's, John Smith's, wine and non-alcoholic drinks to be sold from specially-built public bars at the Street Party on the city's famous Princes Street.

Headline acts at this year's Concert in the Gardens include Kasabian and Calvin Harris.

Hogmanay was cancelled last year due to bad weather.
